About Muhammad Shafiq
Muhammad is a Legal Consultant at Empire Law, with substantial practical experience in criminal defence. He has worked closely with barrister Imran Khan since 2022, developing extensive experience in case preparation, legal research, evidence analysis and the progression of complex and serious criminal matters.
His experience spans a broad range of criminal cases, including serious allegations of violence, murder, organised and multi-handed drug offences, terrorism-related proceedings and complex investigations involving substantial volumes of evidence. He has assisted with matters before the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court, including cases involving the Old Bailey, the National Crime Agency and police investigations.
Muhammad’s experience encompasses legal research, evidence analysis, case preparation and strategic support throughout criminal proceedings. He has worked alongside counsel and clients at conferences, hearings and trials, developing a strong understanding of the practical demands of serious criminal defence.
Alongside his practical legal experience, Muhammad has an extensive academic background in jurisprudence, legal theory and theology. His studies have involved detailed textual analysis, principles of jurisprudence, structured legal reasoning and substantial independent research, including dissertation work. This has developed a strong analytical approach which complements his practical experience in criminal defence.
Known for his methodical approach and attention to detail, Muhammad is particularly focused on identifying the legal and evidential issues central to a case and ensuring that they are properly researched and considered. He works closely with counsel and the wider legal team to ensure that cases are thoroughly prepared and progressed effectively.
