Usman Khan

Usman is a Trainee CILEX Lawyer at Empire Law. He is gaining valuable practical experience across both the Crown Court and Magistrates’ Court. He is developing his knowledge and skills across a broad range of criminal matters, with a particular focus on case preparation, legal drafting and the progression of criminal proceedings.

Usman has assisted on a variety of cases, including complex and multi-handed matters involving extensive evidence, telephone material and expert reports. Through this experience, he has developed a strong understanding of the importance of thorough preparation, attention to detail and effective case management.

His responsibilities include drafting legal documents, preparing and reviewing statements, analysing prosecution evidence, reviewing unused material, assisting with instructions to counsel, liaising with experts, and ensuring cases are progressed in accordance with court timetables and procedural requirements.

Usman holds an LLB Law degree and is currently undertaking his professional training to qualify as a CILEX Lawyer. He is committed to building a long-term career in criminal defence and continues to strengthen his advocacy, litigation and case management skills through practical experience.
